IceOps Team 2020 sum up progress
The international project Ice Operations sum up meeting was held to present the progress achieved over the current year with regards to research on sea-ice conditions, simulation and forecast, and ice mechanics.
This year the experts have been busy working in quite a few research domains. One important deliverable is the analytical report covering the ice conditions in the Pechora Sea and Barents water area with risk simulation practices for evaluating threats to Arctic offshore projects. The plan is to do more joint research to perfect the numerical modeling schemes for calculating ice loads that are likely to be sustained by offshore platforms.
In the final part of the meeting the partners drafted an action plan for the next period of the project which includes expeditions, research and training events, and venues to be co-hosted with businesses.
